Frequently Asked Questions

Key statutory guidance for Trademark and Gazette procedures in India.

While state gazettes exist, The Gazette of India (Department of Publication, Civil Lines, New Delhi) is the sovereign statutory gazette valid across all 28 states and union territories. Passport Seva Kendra (MEA), UIDAI (Aadhaar), PAN (NDSL), nationalized banks, and foreign consulates require the Central Gazette publication to permanently change identity documents.

You may use the ™ (Trademark) symbol immediately upon receiving the official TM Application Number from IP India, which our platform completes within 24 hours of filing. The ® (Registered) mark can only be legally displayed after the Trademark Registry issues the official Registration Certificate.

Under the Trademark Rules 2017, the Government of India offers a 50% statutory discount for individuals, sole proprietors, DPIIT startups, and Udyam-registered MSMEs, setting the official fee at ₹4,500 per class. For non-MSME Private Limited companies and large corporations, the government fee is ₹9,000 per class.

No physical appearance is necessary. eSuvidha Legal handles the entire process remotely: we draft the judicial stamp affidavit, execute both national and regional newspaper announcements, prepare the prescribed CD proforma, and our Delhi advocate associates physically submit the file at the Department of Publication in Civil Lines.
